sometimes the body asks for what the soul has been denied for too long.
quiet. warmth. stillness. less noise.
the sacred ones understood this.
the Buddha sat beneath the tree. Jesus walked away into the wilderness. Mohammed disappeared into the cave before revelation arrived.
not to escape life. to hear it clearly again.
some things have to be released before healing can enter.
the constant rushing. the endless input. the need to respond immediately. the belief that exhaustion means you are doing enough.
what if the nervous system is not failing?
what if it is asking to be tended like sacred ground?
more sleep. more silence. more bare feet on earth. more moments without screens. more meals eaten slowly. more honesty about what drains the spirit.
less forcing. less proving. less carrying what was never yours.
there is wisdom in slowing down enough to notice your own breath again.
wisdom in choosing softness.
wisdom in no longer abandoning yourself just to keep pace with a world that benefits from your disconnection.
perhaps healing is not becoming more.
perhaps it is finally allowing yourself to become less overwhelmed. less fragmented. less afraid to rest.
and maybe that is where the sacred quietly returns.
so...
i'm left asking...
what am i being asked to release right now?
what part of me is asking to finally be tended with gentleness instead of pressure?
